Third Year Students and Faculty

Medical City Weatherford is a remote site location for third year medical students from the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Worth, Texas. A designated number of third year students complete all of their clinical rotations at the hospital and in local clinics. The required rotations include:

  • Internal medicine (8 weeks)
  • Family medicine (8 weeks)
  • Surgery (8 weeks)
  • OB/GYN (6 weeks)
  • Pediatrics (6 weeks)
  • OMM (4 weeks)
  • Psych (4 weeks)
  • Elective* - choices include, but are not limited to:
    • Anesthesiology
    • Cardiology
    • Dermatology
    • Emergency medicine
    • Endocrinology
    • Gastroenterology
    • Geriatrics
    • Hematology/Oncology
    • Nephrology
    • Neurology
    • Pulmonology
    • Urology

*Completing the Elective rotation at Medical City Weatherford is not a requirement. The elective may be completed with the preceptor and at the location of your choice that is TCOM approved.

The Didactic program for medical school clerkships consists of a half-day each week. Students participate alongside Residents and Interns in a comprehensive educational experience that includes:
